OtaLARP Pre-Registration

This form is used for pre-registering during the SECOND phase of OtaLARP's Pre-Registration process for Otakon 2025. ONLY characters already within the Nexus Character Database may be chosen. This phase of registration will continue until July 7, 2025 at 11:59:59 PM EST. Please contact the GMs and/or Otakon Member Accessibility about any accommodations you may need. Many accommodations can be handled by LARP Staff alone, but some require coordination with Member Accessibility. If you require accommodations, please leave a comment at the bottom of the form.

OtaLARP Terms and Conditions

Otakon LARP staff (henceforth referred to as "we", "us", or "our") reserve the right to deny any character requested during the registration process (either pre-registration or "at-con"). In order to increase the likelihood that you receive a character you request, it is highly recommended that you fill in all three preferences for character reservation, especially if requesting a character not already created in the Nexus character database. Common reasons characters are not accepted include, but are not limited to:

  • The source is not from an anime or manga
  • The source is a property owned by Disney
  • The source anime is rated above "PG-13" by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
  • The character expresses mannerisms beyond what would be commonly found in media rated "PG-13" by the MPAA.
  • The character is too powerful or otherwise inappropriate for LARP as determined by us.
Characters are registered on a "first come, first serve" basis. If you request a character that someone else requested first, we must respect the timeliness of the other member’s registration and will attempt to facilitate your request with your second or third choices (as applicable). Again, to ensure you receive a character of your choosing, it is highly recommended that you fill in all three preferences for character reservation. If there is an issue that arises where we cannot fulfill any of your requests, an effort will be made to contact you via the supplied email address to ensure that you have a character registered before the convention.

We do not guarantee any web media to be free of flaws and glitches, nor do we guarantee the GMs to be free of flaws or glitches. While we strive to deliver a safe web environment and ensure that no malware is hosted or delivered as content to our users, we are not responsible for any malware or compromise that may occur as a result of utilizing our web services. We will do our best to honor all reasonable requests within a reasonable time frame. Please be understanding if we take a little longer to process some requests, especially if they are from anime no one on staff is familiar with.

Any requests for accessibility accommodations that we cannot fulfill on our own will be forwarded to Otakon Member Accessibility for assistance.
